Writer's Strike Has Started - Here's What People Are Saying

Writer’s strike has started and the people are either agreeing or not exactly caring about the strike.

There are some who are remembering the last writer’s strike that was held in November of 2007 but was resolved in a matter of 3 months.

During the 2023 Met Gala, many actors and actresses were asked how they felt about the writer’s strike. Most stated that they stand with the writers and they should get what they deserve.

Many writers from television shows, movies, sitcoms and more are stopping their talents to enforce more pay for the work that they are doing.

The Writer Guild of America sent writers to vote for the strike on April 3, 2023. The voting lasted between April 11-17 where it was officially announced that they will be striking.

The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Late Night with Seth Meyers and the Daily Show will be affected by this strike with production shutting down. They will still show re-runs of these shows.

The strike will not stop until both the Writer’s Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers come to an agreement.

The last time that writers went on strike it lasted for 100 days and they are willing to stop everything to obtain what they deserve.

Netflix didn’t start producing content until 2011. They’ve never truly experienced a writers strike. Amazon has made sure to keep unions out of their workforce but entered Hollywood after guilds were established… this is going to be interesting.
