Kyrie Irving Suspension From Nets Rumored To End Sunday

NBA champion Kyrie Irving, who was suspended a minimum of 5 games by the league for anti-Semitism after posting a link to a controversial documentary via his social media page, is rumored to return to the Brooklyn Nets this Sunday.

Tamika Tremaglio, executive director in the National Basketball Players Association, spoke on Wednesday: “Kyrie is continuing his journey of dialogue and education. He has been grappling with the full weight of the impact of his voice and actions, particularly in the Jewish community. Kyrie rejects antisemitism in any form, and he’s dedicated to bettering himself and increasing his level of understanding. He plans to continue this journey well into the future to ensure that his words and actions align with his pursuit of truth and knowledge.”

Roughly two weeks ago, Irving was ordered to conclude 6 benchmarks after being handed a stiff suspension for displaying lack of empathy after Tweeting a link to Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America, a film said to be smeared with anti-Semitic lingo.

The superstar guard has since issued a public apology, and on different occasions met with Adam Silver and Joe Tsai. The Nets owner even stated Irving doesn’t possess “beliefs of hate towards Jewish people.”

During his suspension, the Nets are 4-3 without Irving on the floor. The team has struggled through the season’s initial 15 games as a result of Irving’s absence. The Nets are scheduled to play the Memphis Grizzlies this Sunday.
