Kevin Hart is no stranger to ‘cancel culture,’ and we’re quite certain he could careless. Reportedly, many people are calling for the comedian’s upcoming show in Cairo to be cancelled via Twitter hashtags #CancelKevinHartShow and #kevin_hart_is_not_welcome_in_egypt after saying in a past interview Africans were once kings in Egypt.

Hart is presently on a comedic tour titled “Reality Check.” In early December 2022, the Night School actor announced he’ll be stopping by Cairo, Egypt to perform while on tour. The show is scheduled for Feb. 21 at the Cairo Indoor Stadium — which is significant due to the fact it’s Hart‘s first time performing in Egypt’s capital and largest city (home to 10 million people). However, before his private jet even touches the runway, anti-fans in Africa are telling Hart to stay away after they claim he remarked ‘Africans were kings of Egypt.’

Kevin Hart spoke in a past interview: ”We must teach our children the true history of Black Africans when they were kings in Egypt and not just the era of slavery that is cemented by education in America. Do you remember the time when we were kings?” According to Middle East Eye, the Paper Soldiers star was crucified afterwards for his statement citing “blackwashing” and “afro-centrism.” “You aren’t welcome to Egypt. Egyptians aren’t Africans,” tweeted a man. “We’re the real builders of the civilization, no one else. The Afrocentric is just a lie. They’re liars. Egypt is our land not the Africans.”

Inversely, another person tweeted: “Egypt is black Africa. Egypt is an African country not in Arab country. The original Egyptians are black and finally Egyptians are black Kevin Hart is right #EgyptiansWereBlack #BlackTwitter #KevinHart #kevinhart_is_not_welcome_in_egypt #kevinhart_is_racist #Egyptian.” However, a tweeter from Egypt felt differently: “@KevinHart4real we were never black and this is the difference stop trying to steal other’s culture to create fake value for yourself we were sympathizing your past as slaves but that’s doesn’t mean to wipe it with stealing #kevinhart_is_not_welcome_in_egypt.”

Numerous Egyptians previously assailed Hart being financier of an animation series by Black Sands Entertainment, which some have said loftily promotes Afrocentrism and “blackwashes” ancient Egyptian history.
