Humans are actively searching for ways to present their thoughts and perspectives. Nowadays, it has become easier to connect with people from all over the world through various platforms besides social media. Lately, podcasts have become popular and their audience is increasing considerably, which might encourage you to start your own podcast and reach as many people as possible.

Fortunately, starting a podcast isn’t as hard as you might think, it all boils down to how much you believe in your content. It sounds intimidating at first since a lot of us don’t like our voices or stutter when we speak publicly. Also, a lot of us fear rejection and criticism but knowing which type of podcast best suits us can minimize the negative feedback.

Which Podcast Best Fits Your Personality?

Podcasts reflect who you are and deliver your vision the way you want it. You don’t have a deadline, so you can take your time planning and recording. We are here to help you decide which type of podcast you should start.

Conversational Podcasts

These types of podcasts require 2-3 co-hosts, and their main goal is entertainment. You can have debates or fun light episodes that sound like friends talking over a cup of tea. The audience sticks with the show when they like the hosts’ personalities, that’s why meticulously picking your co-hosts is mandatory.

Having multiple minds working together sometimes produces a more creative outcome. Your co-hosts will help you with script-writing and editing your episodes. The editing part can be hard if your co-hosts are not in the same room, but having a professional editor on-board can help you with the technical issues.

Educational Podcasts

Some people feel the urge to educate people and share their knowledge with the world. This could be done by dedicating every couple of episodes to a certain topic. When it comes to education, you need to find a new way of delivering information; it could be in a sarcastic way or in the form of a story.

In order to stand out, explore a different angle of your topic that no one has ever heard before. Therefore, you need to go over a lot of podcasts before deciding which topic you should talk about. Also, don’t make the episode too long, at least the newly released episodes because people might hesitate when they find a long episode for a new podcaster.

Inviting a guest to your podcast can also be educational. Running an interview and asking the proper questions can help your audience, additionally, it can be a way to let them engage by commenting with questions they want to be answered by your guest.

Flying Solo

If you are an introvert who would rather talk without restrictions, then this is definitely your cup of tea. Having the whole podcast to yourself helps you develop your own brand and connect to your audience on a personal level. You can work according to your own schedule, whether it’s for 2 hours a day or if you want to pull an all-nighter.

Moreover, editing is a lot easier that way since you’re editing only one voice. If you’re a beginner, the editing can prove challenging at first. Luckily, according to the review at https://wiredclip.com/best-podcast-hosting/, there are many hosting platforms out there that provide you with pro-level editing tools that make it easier for beginners who are flying solo. On the other hand, it’s tricky to harness the required energy to keep your audience engaged, and here is where your imaginary friend should be summoned. Professional podcasters recommend imagining talking to someone in order to deliver the warmth you want your audience to feel.

Fiction and Non-Fiction Storytelling Podcasts

Ever dreamed of being the lullaby in people’s ears before they go to sleep? Storytelling is one of the most alluring types of podcasts for children and adults alike. Some people like to hear stories about real-life events or serial killers while others prefer the fictional world and distracting themselves from the world’s noise.

Unfortunately, it’s not really common with the podcast community but you can use that to your advantage and become the first to get people hooked! Audiobooks lovers are the audience you should expect when you start releasing your episodes.

You need to take a leap of faith when you start your podcast, as it might seem challenging at first. Focusing on your strengths and being aware of your own preferences and interests will help you choose the type of podcast you should start. Don’t forget to come up with a cool name and eye-catching cover art!
