Goats Cheese & Caramelized Onion Pizza Recipe

If you do want to try the recipe out at home though, here’s everything you’ll need.

Ingredients:

1 10-inch flat bread or small pizza crust

1 medium onion cut into rings

3 ounces of goat’s cheese

Olive oil or butter for sautéing

1-2 teaspoons milk

Basil (optional)

Salt and pepper to season

Method:

Preheat the oven to 400F and place a rack on the middle shelf
Sautee onions in olive oil and butter over medium heat until soft. Season with salt and pepper and cover in order to retain moisture
Brush flatbread with olive oil, place on a baking sheet and pre-bake until crisp for about 5 minutes
While this is cooking, put the goats cheese into a bowl and add some milk or water so that it becomes spreadable. Whisk until smooth.
Remove flatbread from oven and spread goats cheese and onion over the top. You can leave some of the onions if you don’t want to include them all.
Place back in the oven and bake for 10 minutes or until the edges become crisp and the onions and goats cheese have warmed through.
Slice and serve with your desired toppings. Try out basil or a balsamic dressing.
