I sat here for minutes, staring at my cursor, thinking of what to pen for Bobby V.’s new album, Fly on the Wall, and the first word that came to mind was, “sex.”  To be straight to the point, it is a sexually charged 4th album.  The good thing about the project is that if there was any bad music recorded during the process of its creation, it was hidden from me because I didn’t hear it.
Being released on March 22nd through EMI Records on his Blu Kolla Dreams imprint, the hardworking Bobby V. will be giving us a babymaker in every sense of the word. As a man, your woman will be into the soft beats and loud drums set for thumping things going bump in the night, and for marathon runners, into the morning.
As every man should, Bobby V wants the ride to go that far, and “Hang On” is the premier track on the album for that ride.
“No dress code, clothes are optional…” softly speaks Bobby into your ear.  Whether braless, for the women that like to be cupped, or panty-less, for the women looking to get straight to the point, “Hang On,” produced by Pentagon, is sure to bring her to a climax by the break in the song with cool melodies that are sure to transform your sheets into a pool!
…And Keep the trunks in handy, because with Fly on the Wall, another crashing wave is never too far away.  However, if you guys can’t find any trunks, you might as well keep shorty on you for an “Outfit.”  Produced by Hitboy and Chase, Bobby V. needs you “on his arms and his waist.”  Automatically, other guys can put themselves into Bobby’s wingtips when they’re with a woman.
I guess, depending on if you like her that much…
“Heaven,” is another beast, produced by Tim and Bob, adding to the CD’s potential to boost the population in the 2010’s and beyond.  “It reminds me of my angel sent from Heaven,” said Bobby V. at his listening party, and the slow tempo hands you that ascension feel.  The live instrumentation mixed with the vocals can speed up or slow the motion in the bedroom, kitchen, roof, balcony, or wherever it’s fit to knock boots!  (Yeah I said knock boots…)
The second single from the album, “Words,” stands out as a more love-laced, chivalrous cut, and is one of my personal favorites. Produced by Pentagon, it’s also it’s a bit more relaxed, and streamlined than the rest of the CD, as Bobby tells a woman in the midst of tropical syncopation that if she says she isn’t like something, she’s got to show him that she’s not like that because “Words don’t mean a thing…”
On this album they do, especially since all of the songs are written by Bobby V. himself, if not co-written due to features like Plies on “Phone #” and 50 Cent on “Altered Ego.”  He wants people to understand, that he is a songwriter also, and not just a singer.  Tracks on the LP will pop due to his wording of situations; sex-wise, relationship-wise and how he is able to express himself lyrically.  I found that interesting, and I’m sure you will find being a fly on the wall in Bobby’s world interesting too.
I give Fly on the Wall a PARL, only because I would’ve liked to hear a bit more chivalrous songs, speaking on love in the sort; not necessarily going from the club to the crib.  But hey, it’s a sign of the times.  I’m not mad at him!
