As women, when it comes to the world of romance, most of us used our teen years as a time to explore. However, while dating at a younger age has proven to be true for a lot of people, there are also others who actually started dating later in life.

A Twitter user by the name of @Joniahhh recently opened up about the struggle she has faced being a “late bloomer” and how it has impacted her journey to finding love.

“Can we talk about how hard it is for those of us who didn’t date/talk to anyone fr our middle school and highschool years,” she wrote in the tweet. “So we’re having to figure out all the relationship dating stuff while most people figured it all out when they were like 16.”

I actually Envy yall tho dating as a kid really isnt the move it added to a lot of insecurities that I didnt really need insecurities caused my lil boys at that. And then I dont even have it all figured so its almost worse. 🤷🏾‍♀️ idk tho

I had boyfriends in middle & high school but at age 25… I still don’t have this relationship stuff figured out.

Honestly, you learn more about what NOT to do in your teen years while dating. While you might feel a little more socially awkward and a little behind, lots of folks are unlearning unhealthy dating habits in their 20’s. It evens out.

I used to think like this till a few years passed after high school and I realized that dating then was just raw emotion. Telling someone you liked them when you only occasionally spoke in 5th period and the “dating” consisted of nothing more than physical intimacy.

Actually if you dated in middle/HS you were at a disadvantage when dating in your adulthood. Because all the things you thought matter in middle/hs do not matter in a mature adult relationship so you really spend years after graduating HS up until your mid twenties unlearning (1)
