How can you not love a Steve Carrell movie?  There’s just something about everything he’s in that makes it hard not to laugh out loud while remaining completely engaged. Crazy, Stupid, Love. turned out to be a slightly different movie for Carrell, but it does not disappoint.
The movie follows Steve Carrell as Cal Weaver, a forty something year-old man who thinks he has the perfect life with his wife and kids. He quickly finds out that things aren’t so perfect in his marriage-his wife wants a divorce and has cheated on him with her co-worker. Having been with only one woman since high school Cal is at a loss as to how to start over until he meets Jacob (Ryan Gosling), a charming womanizer that finds his prey in a lounge. The story takes off from there.
Seems these days that romantic comedies are all eerily similar and Crazy, Stupid, Love. could easily be a mix of Hitch, He’s Just Not That Into You, Valentine’s Day and _ Steve Carrell’s last movie. Still this film finds its own uniqueness through lots of subplot and supporting characters. And the humor sprinkled throughout this Dramedy keep the viewer laughing as the story line ties itself together.

How can you not love a Steve Carell movie?  There’s just something about everything he’s in that makes it hard not to laugh out loud while remaining completely engaged. Crazy, Stupid, Love. turned out to be a slightly different movie for Carell, but it does not disappoint or lack in enjoyment..

The movie follows Steve Carell as Cal Weaver, a forty something year-old man who thinks he has the perfect life with his wife and kids. He quickly finds out that things aren’t so perfect in his marriage-his wife Emily (Julianne Moore) wants a divorce and has cheated on him with her co-worker (Kevin Bacon). Having been with only one woman since high school Cal is at a loss as to how to start over until he meets Jacob (Ryan Gosling), a charming womanizer who teaches him to find prey in a lounge. The story takes off from there.

Seems these days that romantic comedies are all eerily similar and Crazy, Stupid, Love. could easily be a mix of Hitch, He’s Just Not That Into You, Valentine’s Day and Date Night, which also starred Steve Carell. Still this film finds its own uniqueness through lots of subplot and supporting characters. And the humor sprinkled throughout this Dramedy keep the viewer laughing as the story line ties itself together. The all-star cast is also very helpful, but even the new faces to the screen bring their A game to this film.

Whether you’re going out on a date or just looking to have some good laugh, this movie will get the job done for you.  It’s well worth the price of the movie ticket.

Special thanks to Broadway Night Out, for inviting us to the advanced screening.
