It was a dark and stormy night Tuesday; two days before the South would be honored by VH1’s Hip-Hop Honors, Bun B and friends entered the Dash Art Gallery to host a listening party for his new upcoming album titled Trill O.G., which is slated for an August release on Rap-A-Lot Records through Fontana Universal Music Group.

The rain don’t stop no show, but there was a storm of Houston’s best present, as well as other Hip-Hop big names. Chamillionaire, Slim Thug, and even the legendary DJ Michael Watts, showed love, as well as Dame Dash and Mickey Factz, who came later on.

Everyone got their socialize on, while listening to a great album to say the least. Even the women, who were chillin’ in their heels and cool hats, were nodding their heads to some tracks. Tracks with awesome beats and songs with awesome features.

The likes of T-Pain, Twista, Jeezy, Letoya Luckett, and Lil’ Wayne laced some vocals for the album. Bun has a song called “Countin’ Money,” featuring Gucci Mane and “Yo Gottttttiiiii,” which has a mixtape-feel to it. Even the late, great Chad Butler and Tupac Shakur tossed bars to Trill O.G., on a crazy track titled “Put It Down,” featuring Trey Songz on the chorus. Drake makes two appearances on the album. The Canadian lyricist kills his part on the chorus of “Put It Down” and “It’s Been a Pleasure.”

(In Drake Voice) Dayum…As if the producers on board aren’t enough to buy the album. DJ Khalil, Boi-1da, and Drumma Boy gave Bun beats that almost made the photography in the gallery fall off the walls! DJ Premier slowed it down with one of his tunes, an old-school NY-sounding track on the album named “Let ‘Em Know.” Bun showed love to Guru, who recently passed by shouting him out at the beginning of the track. Bun’s lyrics never fail, and even though it sounded like a New York song, it passed with flying hues.

There was a lot going on: weed, beautiful women and some of Houston’s rap stars in the mix of the New York public. The Cool Kids were also lurking around. Everybody there showed love for Bun’s album.

No release date is set as of yet for Trill O.G., but there will be no disappointment in store for the buyer. Beware of nothing less than a great listen when the new Bun B Album drops.
