The Braxtons Refuse to Continue Filming for 'Braxton Family Values'

‘Braxton Family Values’ May Be Cancelled, Cast Refusing to Attend Taping Due to Unfair Pay

WE tv’s Braxton Family Values may officially be a wrap. Well, at least, for now.

After five successful seasons and the eight-episode first half of season six, which aired back in March, the network recently had to pull the plug on the reality series until further notice. According to TMZ, the temporary cancellation stemmed from the entire cast refusing to film due to what they believed to be unfair pay.

Sources connected to the show told the news outlet that the Braxton sisters, along with their mother, were scheduled to shoot in Atlanta last week, but Traci was the only one who made an appearance. As a result, WE tv sent the production crew home, and let’s just say, they called it quits.

Allegedly, the Braxton women feel that the wardrobe and travel stipends they were offered are extremely low, and they are demanding WE tv and Magical Elves production company to renegotiate their contracts for the second half of the sixth season. They also want their salaries to be increased before they agree to come back to work for the taping of the forthcoming episodes that were set to premiere in August.

No one involved has commented, confirmed, nor denied the details of the matter.

The Braxtons are under contract until season nine, so we’re hoping that they can get the show rolling again.

Braxton Family Values made its debut in April of 2011. The series follows the controversial, everyday lives of music icon Toni Braxton, her four witty sisters: Towanda, Trina, Traci, and Tamar, and their mother, Evelyn.
